Besides the obvious potions, there are a few other steps in your routine to think about as well. In order to give your face the most hygienic environment possible, try starting off with simple things like:

Keeping Acne at Bay

In the ongoing battle for clear, acne-free skin, our first instinct is to bring out all the big guns. But slapping on every acne medication you have isn’t a good idea. These products have a tendency to draw the water out of your skin in an attempt to dry out any pimples, which ultimately causes the skin to become dehydrated. Then, in an effort to hydrate itself, your skin will start to produce more oil. And more oil leads to more pimples. It’s a vicious cycle!

In order to avoid this, you can add a hydrating, oil-free moisturizer to your routine. I would also recommend a thorough skin assessment for people as young as 12 years old to determine which acne topical treatment is best for your skin and what will help to heal, balance, and clear up acne quickly without over drying.

Magic Serum

Another powerful step in a skin care routine is a serum which is basically a cocktail of concentrated active ingredients that can penetrate deep into the skin and work their magic. There are lots of serums available, so it’s best to look for one to fit your needs. Because they are highly concentrated, they have moisturizing components, but you still need to use a moisturizer afterwards. They are really great at targeting specific skin care concerns.

Essential Sunscreen

Sunscreen should already be a part of your good skin care habits. Sunscreen has pretty obvious benefits, as it protects your skin from UV radiation and getting burnt. It can be easy to incorporate into everyday life, as some moisturizers have SPF protection in them. For maximum protection, however, it’s probably best to use separate products, particularly for prolonged periods in the sun.

Professional Services

The cherry on top is getting professional facials. I suggest you start when your skin starts to change during puberty. It cleans out pores, and it can help balance the skin. We can also talk about these essential skin habits, and set you on the path to beautiful, clear skin.  Here at Bella, our Face Lab even offers a facial specifically geared toward treating acne. We can also recommend which products would be best for your skin type.

All in all, these few steps can drastically change your skin for the better. Once you start with good skin care habits, you won’t want to give it up!
